From 20 year old vines. South west facing Bricco di Neive cru. Declassified from the production of their Vie Erte Barbaresco. Treated similarly to their Barbaresco. Fermented for 20 days with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. Transferred to large Slavonian oak cask for 5 months of aging. First vintage 2009. Average production from 200 to 500 cases

Rich and dense, featuring black cherry, black currant and white pepper aromas and flavors. This is both fresh and silky in texture, with the fruit flavors lingering on the aftertaste. Drink now through 2026. 400 cases made, 40 cases imported.

Beyond these two, a surprising number of red varieties call Piedmont their home. Worth a try include Dolcetto for its bold concentration and aromas of spice cake. Other grapes to investigate include Freisa, Croatina, Brachetto, Grignolino and Pelaverga.
