Winemaker Notes
Deep ruby in colour with flashes of purple. On the bouquet, intense, ripe, black fruit aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry preside, interweaved with oaky notes. The wine is full-bodied, fleshy and complex on the palate, where notes of kirsch echo the bouquet. Well-integrated tannins complement the rich structure and reveal their true glory in a wondrous finish.
Eat with red or white meat, pasta and mature cheese.
Blend: 90% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc

Decanter
Freshly picked red summer berry aromas on the nose. Vibrant and fruity. Dense and ripe, juicy and chewy - full-bodied and mouth-filling. Tannins are overwhelming right now, masking most of the fruit. Good juice underneath, though, giving freshness and life so you know it'll age but at the moment tannins are taking hold and there is some astringency. Cooling aspect on the finish. Top cuvée of the estate.

Wine Enthusiast
This 330-acre Entre-deux-Mers estate has produced a ripe, wood-aged wine. Big tannins and black fruits have a bite of spice and pepper from the high alcohol. That should dissipate as it ages.
In most of France, wines are named by their place of origin and not by the type of grape (with the exception of Alsace). Just like a red Burgundy is by law, always made of Pinot noir, a red Bordeaux is a blended wine composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Depending on the laws of the village from which the grapes come, the conditions of the vintage and decisions of the winemaker, the blend can be further supported by Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and in rare cases, Carmenere. So popular and repeated has this mix of grape varieties become worldwide, that the term, Bordeaux Blend, refers to a wine blended in this style, regardless of origin.
