Lemon, elderflower, spicy notes and herbal aspects on the nose. Clean and clear, but a lovely density and weight on the palate too, a sense of creaminess but balanced acidity that is sharp and really suits and supports the fruit. Crisp apple, creamy peach and lively citrus. Nice persistence and easy drinkability with hints of sweet and sour fruit that I love. On the more intense and maybe more tense side but good potential. Harvest 26 August - 1 September. Aged 8-9 months in stainless steel tanks. Derenoncourt consultants.

Built mostly around Semillon, the 2022 Château Les Charmes-Godard Blanc is a blend of 60% Semillon, 27% Sauvignon Blanc, and the rest Sauvignon Gris. Its medium gold hue is followed by a gorgeous array of stone fruits, honeyed flowers, mint, and crushed stone-like minerality. It's beautifully balanced, medium-bodied, has solid concentration, and a great finish.

A mineral and focused white that shows notes of sliced lemons, apples, white pears and hints of beeswax. Crushed stones, too. It’s medium-bodied with lively acidity and a long, energetic finish.

The 2022 Les Charmes-Godard Blanc is a very pretty wine that is also less rich than it has been in the past. Citrus confit, marzipan and a kick of spice all grace this layered, textural white.
Sometimes light and crisp, other times rich and creamy, Bordeaux White Blends typically consist of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Often, a small amount of Muscadelle or Sauvignon Gris is included for added intrigue. Popularized in Bordeaux, the blend is often mimicked throughout the New World. Somm Secret—Sauternes and Barsac are usually reserved for dessert, but they can be served before, during or after a meal. Try these sweet wines as an aperitif with jamón ibérico, oysters with a spicy mignonette or during dinner alongside hearty Alsatian sausage.
On the right bank of Bordeaux between St. Emilion and Bergerac, Cotes de Francs boasts southwestern exposed slopes that produce robust Merlot-based wines. A tiny amount of Sémillon is grown and made in both dry and sweet styles.
