Aromas of sweet berries, cedar and some bark follow through to a medium body with firm, velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Layered and very pretty. So delicious now, but will also age wonderfully. Drink or hold.

Fleshy and ripe, the 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione La Corte offers up melded spice and fruit, with baked red plum, red flowers, balsamic, and sweet tobacco. Full-bodied, with ample and gripping structure throughout, it has chewy tannins and is compact, with dried plum, dark mineral earth, and black tea. A powerful style of red, this would stand up well to a Florentine steak and rich pork dishes.

This vintage saw freezing winter temperatures and a hot summer. The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione La Corte draws its fruit from a pretty south and southwest-facing vineyard with well-draining, sandy soils. This wine is beautifully intact and fresh. It reveals a primary bouquet with wild cherry, plum and forest fruit. The finish is linear, tight and polished, especially in terms of the tannins. It ages for 12 months in both barrique and tonneaux made from Tronçais and Allier oak and sees another six months in bottle before its commercial release.

Perfumed scents of flowers and fragrant oak. Fluid on the palate, harmonious, with firm sinewy tannins.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
