Winemaker Notes

A deep red, at the same time luminous and saturated. A rich wealth of wild red berry fruit immediately greets the nose, followed by a broad array of spice. After a sapid and appealing attack, the elegance of the tannins, supple and compelling, is striking, and the aromatic sensations on the nose reappear here in full. A well-integrated balanced of its components give this wine a far from normal pleasure ableness.

The 2010 L’Apparita is a pure expression of Merlot with bold fruit nuances of cherry and black fruit at the core. This vintage is especially sophisticated and fine: Evidently those cooling diurnal shifts during the growing season have contributed to the overall elegance and prestige of this beautiful varietal wine. It promises a slow and steady evolution over the next ten years. Drink: 2015-2028.

Pure cherry underlies the spicy oak in this dense, focused red. Bright and balanced, picking up cedar, floral and mineral elements on the lingering aftertaste. Merlot. Best from 2016 through 2025.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
