Winemaker Notes
Castello del Terriccio Lupicaia is a dark red color. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are gently de-stemmed and pressed, with particular attention to conserving the skin of the berries. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in open cap stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with maceration of the grapes for about 20 days. Daily draining allows for the perfect extraction of the aromatic bouquet and the right tannic balance, with important structure that will allow a long aging.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Castello del Terriccio 2019 Lupicaia is a thickly concentrated effort, with inky black fruit, black licorice, balsam herb and rosemary essence. The wine also has a pronounced floral side that is quite uncommon. I am reminded of lavender pastilles and rose hip. The wine does not close too heavy; indeed, it remains streamlined and sprightly throughout. The character of the wine is a little more accessible and immediate overall.

The floral and currant aromas come through clearly, with hints of lavender and sage flowers. It’s medium-bodied with a firm and fresh vibe. Lightly chewy, with fine powdery tannins at the end. A blend of cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. Drinkable now, but better in a year or two.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
