Winemaker Notes
Bright fruit aromas take the lead with spiced pear, green apple, and lemon notes, underscored by a delicate floral scent. Toasty barrel aging elements are expressed as graham cracker, biscuit, and Dulche de leche. Flaxen in color with the vibrant hint of green and sourced from Cannonball's favorite sites in California's Central and North Coasts, this Chardonnay displays an approachable and ever-food-friendly cool climate fruit profile. It's full and warm on the entry with floral accents, tangy lemon curd, and crème brûlée notes. The mid-palate flaunts the smoothness of honeydew melon, the lifted acidity of juicy pineapple, and the richness of honey. On the finish, French oak aging is unveiled with notes of caramel, meringue and flaky pastry richness.

The Cannonball. It is the perfect symbol of freedom. Legs tucked beneath you, soaring through the air – that uninhibited spirit is the soul of Cannonball wines. The Cannonball icon is a symbol of your inner child. A time when life was carefree and all about having fun. Dive In and Share a Splash!
Founded in 2006 by a dynamic team of wine industry veterans who were determined to rock the wine world. The vision was to make the best California Cabernet under $20. Armed with a belief that wine should be fun, uninhibited and approachable, they set out to share a splash of Cannonball Cabernet in every glass.
By 2010, Cannonball Cabernet had established a solid reputation in the under $20 category and was receiving lots of love from consumers, restaurants, and retailers. They all wanted more, so the line was extended. The first varietal was Chardonnay, followed by Merlot, and then Sauvignon Blanc.
The beloved flavors of Cannonball are sourced from select regions throughout California. The diverse California micro-climates, topography and soils provide the perfect palette to create wines that are complex and highly consistent.
Dedicated to innovation, with a commitment to authenticity, their mission is to spread their passion by offering wines we believe in. We love what we do, and hope it shows in every bottle!

California’s most praised white wine, Chardonnay is also the state’s most planted white grape variety. Diverse terrain and microclimates allow for an incredible range of wine styles.
Chardonnay planted in the cooler, coastal zones takes on bright characteristics like lemon zest, key lime, green apple and wet flint. For this style, look to the chilly Sonoma Coast, Carneros, Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Lucia Highlands and Edna Valley.
The inland zones of California’s coast, such as the Russian River, Sonoma, Napa and Livermore Valleys maintain a more Goldilocks-esque climate where both styles go. Early picking retains acidity and creates a leaner style but leaving the grapes to hang creates an approachable Chardonnay, balancing richness and finesse.
Chardonnay also plays a major part in the sparkling wine production of the Anderson Valley and Carneros.
