Winemaker Notes

Winemaker suggests this wine be opened early and allowed to breathe. Tart cherry and brambly blackberry, cherry and pomegranate aroma. Hints of vanilla and dried herbs frame the rustic fruit expression. Juicy, brambly and lighter in style, a wine that is perfect with a slight chill for a Summer dinner outdoors or a Spring picnic lunch. Tart cherries and black berry fruits with a hint of vanilla from the French Oak influence.

Ripe cheese and charcuterie plate as a casual nosh, or try it with a fried chicken sandwich, burger, pizza, or any savory sandwich you can imagine.

Spiced red berries merge with black tea and sage, bringing the palate to life. Orange peel and plum strike a chord with savory notes of balsamic and cherry-vanilla liqueur. Yummy!

This well-balanced, medium-bodied wine is an ideal choice for those who prefer a lively texture over pure richness. There are plenty of tasty cherry and berry flavors, all nicely supported by tangy acidity.

Internationally recognized for gorgeous, pure fruit combined with great elegance, California Pinot noir thrives among the state’s cooler, coastal zones. Characterized by eclectic flavors and aromas of strawberry, black cherry, plum and potpourri with notes of forest floor, mushroom or black tea, the best California Pinot noir boast a supple texture and good acidity, giving them the ability to improve with age.

Credited with the beginning of Pinot noir’s glory in California, two growers, Joe Rochioli and Joseph Swan in the late 1960s independently planted Pinot noir vineyards in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. Today Sonoma County remains the leading producer of Pinot noir in the state, and Pinot noir is the leading red grape in the county, achieving its highest potential, in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast.

Other coastal appellations where Pinot noir flourishes include Carneros, Anderson Valley and most of the Central Coast.
