Winemaker Notes

Vibrant mineral-laced citrus pith and green apple aromas show very good clarity and a hint of white flowers. Clean and linear on the palate, offering juicy lemon/lime and honeysuckle flavors and a touch of bitter quince. Finishes spicy and long, leaving a pear skin note behind.

Aside from pairing extremely well with oysters, grilled seafood, asparagus, anchovies and artichokes, this squeaky clean wine is a great foil to Indian curries, Thai and Vietnamese dishes and Chinese dim sum with a little heat.

On the southern edge of the rocky Bay of Biscay in northern Spain, this is Basque country and home to the refreshing and slightly effervescent (usually) white wine, Txakoli. Three subregions compose the larger one: Getariako Txakolina, Bizkaiko Txakolina and Arabako Txakolina. While Hondarribi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza are the main grape varieties, other French varieties are scattered throughout the region.
