Jam and dried berry on the nose verges on fruitcake. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins, a round, opulent palate and plenty of fruit. Turns velvety and opulent. A gorgeous, powerful and generous Brunello. Needs another couple of years.—'99 Brunello blind retrospective (2009). Best after 2011.
