Winemaker Notes

Intense, deep red in color, the main trait of Desiderio 2015 is the harmony between the sweet fruity notes, typical to Merlot, and the power, testament of the 2015 vintage. The bouquet is deeply endowed with black currant, myrtle, eucalyptus and black cherries. Very savoury, with hints of incense, the wine has velvety tannins and impressive persistence. Son of a warm vintage, vinified with great finesse.

Plenty of plum fruits with dried herbs and spices in addition to ash and baking spices. Full body, chewy tannins and a long finish. Shows complexity, as well as a fruit and acid balance.

Sweet, warm, graceful, expressive. This small zone’s harmony and rightness is evident in this wine’s aroma: calm, soft, nourishing, teasing and easeful. This is pure, smooth, singing and lyrical: lovely plum and bramble fruits, weighed down with gorgeous Merlot tannins. Spot-on and delicious.

Enticing aromas of underbrush, spiced plum, fragrant blue flower, cedar and a whiff of incense come to the forefront on this fragrant Merlot. It's taut, elegant and structured, delivering dried black cherry, clove, licorice and a hint of sandalwood framed in fine-grained tannins. It has surprising freshness for the hot dry vintage. Drink 2020–2027.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
