    Amizetta, California
Since its genesis, the dream of Amizetta Vineyards has been to creat, administer and reside upon our family estate vineyards. We envisioned growing the absolute highest quality wine grapes, in one of the most renowned wine producing regions in the world: Napa Valley, California. Amizetta vineyards was established in 1979 when Amizetta and Spencer Clark moved from Texas to a magnificent property just outside the small town of Saint Helena. The winery & vineyards were developed at a 1,000 ft elevation in the eastern hills overlooking Lake Hennessey on the southern tip of the Howell Mountain range. The vineyards were planted in the early 1980s on an extremely steep, stony & porous terrain making for arduous grape growing with limited grape yields. Combined with the intensive hillside water stress conditions and vast southern exposure, these vineyards have historically brought forth spectacular grapes.

Undoubtedly proving its merit over and over, Napa Valley is a now a leading force in the world of prestigious red wine regions. Though Cabernet Sauvignon dominates Napa Valley, other red varieties certainly thrive here. Important but often overlooked include Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties well-regarded on their own as well as for their blending capacities. Very old vine Zinfandel represents an important historical stronghold for the region and Pinot noir is produced in the cooler southern parts, close to the San Pablo Bay.

Perfectly situated running north to south, the valley acts as a corridor, pulling cool, moist air up from the San Pablo Bay in the evenings during the hot days of the growing season, which leads to even and slow grape ripening. Furthermore the valley claims over 100 soil variations including layers of volcanic, gravel, sand and silt—a combination excellent for world-class red wine production.
