In the family, viniculture has been tradition since 1708. A tradition that has been cultivating in the vineyards as well as in the house which was built back in 1830. For generations, they’ve been admiring and respecting nature, because it’s her who forms the basis for the winery's daily work.

The wine obtains a distinctive character through a close to nature crop growing in the vineyard and a nature-oriented wine production. This family owned winery belongs to Germany’s best wine businesses. The “Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter” (VDP) (a consortium of good wine businesses in Germany) accepted us as a member of the wine region Nahe in 1992.

For generations, it has been our claim to produce wine of highest quality.

Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.

Steep and terraced slopes of a sandstone, porphyry, and slate produce some of Germany’s best Rieslings, which are full of pronounced aromas, spice and mineral.
