Winemaker Notes
Bright cherry color with some violet nuances. In the nose, red berries aromas. It shows an elegance in the mouth, yet very lively, with some spice back notes and a very balanced acidity.

A spicy rendition of Cune crianza, but as always this is fruity, with lots of cherries, plums and a touch of white pepper. Juicy and bright, with some restrained fruit sweetness. Very fine-grained, juicy and consistent.

Aromas of old oak and jammy fruit indicate some evolution. The wine presents soft tannins with just enough grip on the finish, and toasty, cigar-box oak that has integrated with the wine over time in bottle. It is a classic and well-developed style of crianza.

The 2021 Cune Crianza is a classical blend of Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha and Mazuelo from Rioja Alta that fermented in 20,000-liter stainless steel vats and matured in used American and a small portion of French oak barrels for 12 months. It has a creamy nose with notes of wild berries and an herbal touch that delivers freshness. It was bottled with 13.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.61 and 5.4 grams of acidity. It's approachable and harmonious, has very fine tannins and is easy to drink and fresh but with some grip.

Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
