Elk Cove has enough sunlight and warmth for ripening, but their cool evenings help retain varietal character and prevent over-ripening. They whole-cluster press their Pinot Gris grapes, then ferment the juice at very cool temperatures in small stainless steel tanks. This gentle treatment protects the aromatic qualities and enhances the natural richness of the Pinot Gris grapes, creating their most popular white wine. - Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
The Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is bright, forward, balanced and approachable. Enticing aromas of apple, peach, vanilla, and spice are lifted by elegant floral characters. Elk Cove Pinot Gris 2024 The 2024 Elk Cove Vineyards Estate Pinot Gris shows a pale straw color with a subtle green tint. Its aromas lift from the glass with fresh garden herbs and dried citrus peel. Smooth and mouth-coating on the palate, the wine finishes dry and clean. From one of Oregon’s most respected producers of Pinot Gris, this estate-grown offering is an exceptional match for toro sashimi or a refined selection of Hamachi and Kampachi. Elk Cove Pinot Gris 2023
Always a standard bearer, the latest Pinot Gris from Elk Cove is excellent. Fresh-grated lemon zest and orange blossom aromas are accented by a wee bit of wet slate. The wine, which was whole-cluster pressed and cold fermented in small stainless steel tanks, possesses flavors ranging from grapefruit lightly sprinkled in sugar to a green apple gummy bear.
