Distiller Notes
The Mediterranean fig has a unique flavor all its own, and it has grown tremendously in popularity over the last several years. Whether hand-picked in Italy or lovingly grown in Greece, the fig comprises a sweet, aromatic character with a one-of-a-kind flavor that makes it unmistakable. Figenza does a remarkable job at combining this unique, flavorful fruit with the an impeccably six-times-distilled neutral spirit to reveal an aggressive, but smooth vodka with the feel of a liqueur.
Though Vodka aspires to be an odorless and tasteless spirit on its own, this aspect (somewhat ironically) makes it the perfect base for flavored spirits, as there aren’t any other flavors or aromas to compete with those being added. While some premium producers steep their Vodkas with actual fruit, extracts and concentrates are most commonly used to achieve a desired flavor.
