The foundation for Bruichladdich's Classic Laddie is not a recipe set in stone, but a distilling philosophy. They have no interest in consistency or uniformity, instead – year by year – the variety and provenance of their barley shapes the spirit, and an ever-increasing range of casks are sourced to evolve the suite of flavors in the warehouse.
Composing each unique recipe is a rigorous process; head distiller Adam Hannett must carry a multi-dimensional picture of the sensory potential that surrounds him and systematically evaluate every spirit by nose, taste and mouthfeel.
Each batch of the Classic Laddie will, by nature, be unique and subtly different, but it is ultimately Adam who curates this assemblage of their finest spirits, to showcase the classic, floral and elegant Bruichladdich house style.

Today Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are prized by enthusiasts and aficionados the world over for their rarity, age and complexity. By definition these must be produced in Scotland from a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley, using a pot still. The appearance, aroma and flavor of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky can vary widely depending on whether it was produced in the Highlands, Lowlands Islands, Speyside, Islay or Campbelltown regions.
