Winemaker Notes
On the front this is a fruit forward wine. As the wine moves to the mid palate the flavors of black cherry, cassis and ripe blackberry are distinctly present creating a pleasantly complex combination of ripe fresh fruits with just a faint hint of barrel oak. The sip finishes with a mild lingering but refreshing sweetness.

Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, and Zinfandel, the 2013 Anonymous spent 18 months in 50% new French and American oak. Plums, spice box, incense, and licorice notes, medium to full body, ripe tannin, and loads of Zinfandel charm all emerge from the glass. It's well worth drinking and should keep for 6-8 years.
Our love of California wine coupled with our passion for California street art inspired our line of urban art labeled California wines. Every handcrafted bottle of 1849 Wine reflects this artistic spirit and the dedication we have for the art of wine making.
Undoubtedly proving its merit over and over, Napa Valley is a now a leading force in the world of prestigious red wine regions. Though Cabernet Sauvignon dominates Napa Valley, other red varieties certainly thrive here. Important but often overlooked include Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties well-regarded on their own as well as for their blending capacities. Very old vine Zinfandel represents an important historical stronghold for the region and Pinot noir is produced in the cooler southern parts, close to the San Pablo Bay.
Perfectly situated running north to south, the valley acts as a corridor, pulling cool, moist air up from the San Pablo Bay in the evenings during the hot days of the growing season, which leads to even and slow grape ripening. Furthermore the valley claims over 100 soil variations including layers of volcanic, gravel, sand and silt—a combination excellent for world-class red wine production.
