Red White Sparkling Rosé Spirits GiftsLearn about Trebbiano — taste profile, popular regions and more …
Compared to other white wine-producing varieties, Trebbiano claims some of the most vineyard acreage on a global scale. This amber colored variety is productive and very widely planted in both France and Italy, the world’s two major wine-producing countries. There are six distinct varieties with Trebbiano as part of their name in Italy alone and it is cited in over 80 DOC regulations—more than any other single variety. Trebbiano Toscano, one of the most popular, is deliciously light and crisp. Trebbiano d’Abruzzo actually has some aging potential when handled carefully.
Tasting Notes for Trebbiano
Trebbiano is a dry, white wine with a light body and a vibrant acidity. It is often characterized by green melon, stone fruit, apple, lime blossom, lemon grass and a long, tingling finish.
Perfect Food Pairings for Trebbiano
Try Trebbiano with spaghetti alla carbonara, grilled sardines or artichokes, sauteed prawns or olives & prosciutto antipasti.
Sommelier Secrets for Trebbiano
Ugni Blanc is responsible for the whites in Southwest, France called Gascogne Blanc. These are fun and often value-priced so make great alternatives to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris if you’re looking for something new to try.
