Red White Sparkling Rosé Spirits GiftsLearn about Graciano — taste profile, popular regions and more ...
Historically Graciano is perhaps best known as a blending grape used in Rioja to add color, depth and perfume to Tempranillo. Since it is low-yielding and prone to mildew due to its tight bunches, it—not surprisingly—prefers high altitude and a dry climate, making Rioja a natural home. Graciano also thrives in the nearby region of Navarra.
Tasting Notes for Graciano
Graciano is a dry red wine with moderate to smooth tannins. Dark-colored, with intense perfume of black fruit and violets, Graciano also shows mulberry, black cherry and chocolate characteristics.
Food Pairings for Graciano
Graciano’s dark fruit and lush tannins make it a good pair for grilled or smoked red meat in general, as well as gamey meat like lamb spiced with Herbes de Provence, wild boar stew or chorizo.
