Where do we ship?
We ship wine to most states, though there are still some states that prohibit retailers from shipping wine in their state. We operate multiple warehouses around the country to comply with state laws. To determine if Wine.com ships to your state, use the drop-down menu at the top of the page to select your state. This will ensure you see correct inventory and pricing for your area. If we cannot ship to your state, you will see that on the red bar at the top of the page alerting you that your state prohibits delivery of wine from out-of-state retailers. We do, however, ship our non-wine items to all 50 states, including non-wine gift baskets, accessories and glassware.
Why must I select a state before shopping?
We ship from multiple warehouses due to state laws, so PRICES AND SELECTION MAY VARY depending on which state you ship to – PLEASE start shopping on Wine.com by first using the state drop-down menu to select the state where you want your items delivered. Once you choose your desired delivery state, our site will adjust the selection we offer to ensure you are only shown items that we can legally ship to that state. CHANGING STATES FROM YOUR CART MAY CHANGE YOUR ORDER! To avoid this unfortunate experience, it is best practice to empty your cart and select your state before you shop!
There are a few ZIP CODE RESTRICTIONS
Local laws prevent us from shipping to certain zip codes that are considered "dry zip codes" in Alaska, Florida, Idaho and New Hampshire. We do ship to most of the zip codes in these states, but our system will tell you if the zip code you enter is one that is excluded by law at the time the order is placed, after the shipping address and zip code is entered.
NEW YORK has additional regulations - NO WINE & FOOD IN THE SAME BOX!
New York regulations prohibit wine and food from being shipped in the same package. Gifts and Baskets ordered that include both food and wine will be sent in two separate packages. Your gift message will be included in both packages and your Order Confirmation will show two order numbers that will also be given to separate tracking numbers once they are shipped.
Shipping and handling rates will vary based on the number of bottles, and the size and weight of your order. Rates will also change as expedited shipping methods are selected.
STANDARD rates (shown in the shopping cart - first page of checkout) As you load items into your cart, the standard shipping rates will show on that first page of the shopping cart. The amount will also adjust as you add, delete or change items and update your cart.
EXPEDITED options and rates (shown on the delivery page) Shipping options, rates and the available delivery dates will vary based on the products you are ordering and your shipping destination. Available expedited shipping methods and the associated charges are shown on the delivery page. At that time, you will be able to choose your preferred method and date before you place the order.
ALASKA or HAWAII rates (requires expedited methods and charges) Unfortunately, we cannot ship ground to Alaska or Hawaii! When shipping to Alaska or Hawaii, the shipping method required will default to an expedited method. Our shopping cart will indicate the required method and the total charge after you have entered the shipping address.
Selecting a Delivery Date (done on the delivery page at check out)
We offer date-specific deliveries for most items purchased. A calendar with all available delivery dates will be presented to you after you enter your shipping address. You can select a delivery date up to six months out by clicking on the calendar arrow to move forward months. Note that we cannot select a specific block of time for your delivery, only a specific date. The carrier will make three delivery attempts before the item is returned to our warehouse.
