Wyndham Bin 333 Pinot Noir 2011 Front Label
Wyndham Bin 333 Pinot Noir 2011 Front Label

Winemaker Notes

Crimson red. Black cherry and strawberry fruit characters with a subtle savory influence. A light to medium bodied style with confectionery cherry and strawberry fruit flavors and savory complexity. Oak characters of cinnamon spice are well-integrated, adding character without detracting from the juicy primary fruit flavours. The soft tannins provide support and structure to this fruit driven style that has a balanced and persistent finish.

Thin-skinned, finicky and temperamental, Pinot Noir is also one of the most rewarding grapes to grow and remains a labor of love for some of the greatest vignerons in Burgundy. Fairly adaptable but highly reflective of the environment in which it is grown, Pinot Noir prefers a cool climate and requires low yields to achieve high quality. Outside of France, outstanding examples come from in Oregon, California and throughout specific locations in wine-producing world. Somm Secret—André Tchelistcheff, California’s most influential post-Prohibition winemaker decidedly stayed away from the grape, claiming “God made Cabernet. The Devil made Pinot Noir.”

The term is used when vintners choose to source fruit from multiple regions in order to maintain a consistent finished wine from year to year.
