Winemaker Notes

Bouquet is heady and lifted with liqueur cherry and wild raspberry. Asian spice, ginger, red licorice and rosepetal florals form a deep and complex bouquet. The palate is a combination of succulent red berries, Turkish Delight and darker, concentrated brooding fruits and florals is framed by lithe, sandy tannins. A wine of layers and grace.

Pair with Mandarin duck.

Aromas of dark fruit and light jam with tea undertones. Medium to full body, soft and silky tannins and a savory finish. Tailored and structured. Fun to drink now. Will improve with age.

Lurid ruby-red. Potent, mineral-accented cherry and red berry preserve and spicecake qualities on the highly perfumed nose. Juicy and broad on the palate, offering alluringly sweet, concentrated black raspberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors that pick up a smoky element as the wine opens up. Fine-grained tannins sneak in slowly on the impressively long finish, which leaves behind suggestions of candied flowers and exotic spices.

This wine offers all of the sleekness and complexity you'd hope from a top tier wine. It's dripping in tones of juicy, ripe strawberry, rhubarb and blueberry jam, along with violets, warm spices and some earthiness at its core. Texturally, there are no hard edges here. Soft and supple, some silky tannins and a delicate line of acidity are there, but only enough to rein in all that plush fruit. Drink now–2033.

Grenache thrives in any warm, Mediterranean climate where ample sunlight allows its clusters to achieve full phenolic ripeness. While Grenache's birthplace is Spain (there called Garnacha), today it is more recognized as the key player in the red blends of the Southern Rhône, namely Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône and its villages. Somm Secret—The Italian island of Sardinia produces bold, rustic, single varietal Grenache (there called Cannonau). California, Washington and Australia have achieved found success with Grenache, both flying solo and in blends.

Adelaide refers to the diverse super zone in South Australia containing the Mount Lofty Ranges Zone (Adelaide Hills, Adelaide Plains and Clare Valley), Fleurieu Zone (Currency Creek, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale, and Southern Fleurieu) and Barossa Zone (Barossa Valley and Eden Valley).

The Adelaide Hills region is distinguished and beautiful, offering a cool respite in the summer for Adelaide city dwellers. With vineyards planted fairly high in elevation at 1,500 to 1,800 feet, it is known for particularly fine, citrus-driven Sauvignon Blanc.

The Adelaide Plains is a hot region northwest of the Adelaide Hills that produces approachable, value-driven wines.
