Winemaker Notes

Lifted aromas of sweet citrus fruit mingle with tropical notes of banana, passionfruit, and guava. A vibrant blend with fresh, crunchy flavors of tropical and citrus fruits. A small component of barrel fermentation and some lees contact offer additional complexity and texture to the palate, finishing with a clean, crisp natural acidity. p>Great as an aperitif. Enjoy with fresh goat's cheese, light crustacean or fish entrées.

Lots of sliced-apple, lime and grassy character here with a creamy texture and zingy acidity. Contrasting and fun. Drink now. Screw cap.

No other wine quite compares to a Margaret River SBS and Voyager’s version perfectly encapsulates this unique style. A 68% and 32% blend, this wine is aromatic and vegetal without veering into canned string-bean territory. Gentle notes of tomato leaf and green bell pepper walk alongside tropical and stone fruits, wet stone minerality, and slightly reductive white-spice and salt characters. On the palate, the Semillon gets its chance to shine, chalky in texture yet prickly from the acidity. If you’ve never tried an Aussie SBS, this is the perfect place to start. Hudson Wine Brokers. COMMENTARY: The beauty of a white wine blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon is how seamless it matches with shellfish. TASTING NOTES: This wine is delicious, crisp, and tangy. Its aromas and flavors of dried earth, savory spices, and green apple would match beautifully with Dungeness crab, crunchy kale, and sliced heart of palm. (Tasted: March 6, 2019, San Francisco, CA)

Sometimes light and crisp, other times rich and creamy, Bordeaux White Blends typically consist of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Often, a small amount of Muscadelle or Sauvignon Gris is included for added intrigue. Popularized in Bordeaux, the blend is often mimicked throughout the New World. Somm Secret—Sauternes and Barsac are usually reserved for dessert, but they can be served before, during or after a meal. Try these sweet wines as an aperitif with jamón ibérico, oysters with a spicy mignonette or during dinner alongside hearty Alsatian sausage.

Home to some of Australia’s most elegant and long-lived red and white wines, Margaret River is situated in the farthest reaches of Western Australia. Relatively warm and dry, the region is cooled by breezes from the Indian Ocean. Margaret River takes some inspiration from Bordeaux, producing top-quality Cabernet Sauvignons and Bordeaux Blends with firm structure, mouthwatering acidity, balanced alcohol and notes of herbs and spice. For white wines, refreshing blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon as well as complex, age-worthy Chardonnays are regional specialties.
