How does one effectively produce a Bordeaux-styled red wine from Paso Robles? By concentrating on the wine's totality, Vina Robles has made a true example of this genre. The 2012 Vina Robles Suendero exhibits the force of Paso, the richness of the Médoc, and the elegance of Saint-Émilion. The wine offers black fruit concentration, with a firm structure, and palate-cleansing minerality. Drinks nicely now with a well-marbled steak. (Tasted: January 30, 2017, San Francisco, CA)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Easily the star of the show, the 2012 Suendero (79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec) offers classic Cabernet notes of cassis, toasted bread, jammy blackberries and toasted spice in its full-bodied, beautifully textured personality. It has ripe tannin, solid mid-palate depth and tons of charm. Drink bottles anytime over the coming decade.
