Winemaker Notes

Smooth, fruity, and a touch earthy on the nose, with pure raspberry, plum, and cassis in proper doses. Quite comfortable across the palate, where juicy acids wrestle with full tannins. Finishes big, with chocolate.

"Great purity of fruit with chocolate and plum notes. Firm tannins and generosity of spirit." - J.A.

"Dark fruits, wet stone and herbs on the nose. Creamy, with a soft texture and a lovely, lifted texture on the finish." - P.C.

"Serious stuff – concentrated and solid in structure, dark fruit and spices. Alcohol bothers a little bit, but it is a drinkable wine. A good expression of Malbec." - P.T.

Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
