Winemaker Notes

"With 10% Merlot for extra smoothness, this Cabernet Sauvignon has amazing intensity with plum, blackberry, leather, spice bread, clove, chocolate and menthol notes that leap out of the glass. It's a beautifully harmonious wine with no aromatic element out of place and black fruit and spice flavors that are nicely rounded out by the oak. Soft, yielding and ready to drink now."

"Terrabianca pulls this Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend from vineyards in Chianti Classico as well as the Maremma. It has a casual power, its fruit intensity and extract carried with freshness. The structure is tight, the tannins a little youthfully astringent, but they allow the red fruit to show through. This is pretty and impressively long in its flavor, one of the better bets for aging among the Tuscan reds of the vintage."

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
