Winemaker Notes

Often referred to as the backbone varieties of McLaren Vale, Grenache and Shiraz favour the Mediterranean climate and gentle maritime influences of the region. When dry-grown, Grenache produces small berries of intense colour and flavour enabling our winemakers to craft a wine that is flavoursome yet soft, with low acidity and smooth rounded tannin. Shiraz is blended for length and complexity. A well balanced wine ready to enjoy now, Keystone will accompany a wide variety of food styles.

Serve: Room temperature or slightly chilled. Superb with poultry or game, red meats, pastas and curries.

Known for opulent red wines with intense power and concentration, McLaren Vale is home to perhaps the most “classic” style of Australian Shiraz. Vinified on its own or in Rhône Blends, these hot-climate wines are deeply colored and high in extract with signature hints of dark chocolate and licorice. Cabernet Sauvignon is also produced in a similar style.

Whites, often made from Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc tend to be opulent and full of tropical, stone and citrus fruit.
