    Winemaker Notes

Santa Margherita first introduced Americans to Pinot Grigio in 1979. Thirty years later, Santa Margherita remains the most requested Pinot Grigio and Imported Wine in America's fine restaurants.

Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio is the benchmark by which all other Pinot Grigios are judged. A pale straw yellow color. This wine boasts a clean, crisp fragrance with intense yet elegant hints of quince. On the palate, fresh, harmonious fruit is set off by slight sweetness with a long finish full of delicate, tangy flavor.

This wine pairs beautifully with a wide range of light-weight dishes.

Santa Margherita introduced Pinot Grigio in 1980, and has become one of America's favorite premium wines. Recently voted the most popular imported wine, red or white, in top restaurants for the 11th consecutive year (Wine & Spirits 4/06), Santa Margherita remains a favorite among wine enthusiasts for its crisp, ripe character and consistent quality.

    Napa Valley

    Cabernet Sauvignon

The Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without thinking of the other. Although Cabernet has many important outposts throughout the wine world, nowhere else has it achieved such success (and, at the highest end, commanded such lofty prices) than in Napa. Here, it is responsible for bold, opulent, and dark-fruited wines with grippy tannins and a healthy dose of alcohol. The best examples can age for decades. Each of Napa’s smaller sub-AVAs imparts a different character to Cabernet, such as Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
