Distiller Notes
Redbreast American Oak Series: Missouri Oak Edition is comprised of Pot Still whiskeys finished for 10 months in the finest virgin American oak casks sourced from the Ozarks of Missouri. The liquid was initially matured in American Oak bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry butts.Sweet toffee apple and vanilla at first, followed by ripe blackcurrants, cinnamon, ground ginger and nutty undertones. Rich with oak tannins, luscious and creamy texture, cinnamon, nutmeg, black peppercorns, rich berry fruits and vanilla cream. Satisfyingly long, with the nuttiness and Pot Still spices lingering finally yielding to the oak.
The result of an historically prohibitive tax placed on malted barley by the English crown, Irish Whiskey is most often produced from a combination of un-malted barley and other grains. Whereas most other Whiskeys are twice distilled, Irish Whiskeys are distilled three times in a column still and must mature in oak barrels for a minimum of three years. These intricate production steps combine to make them lighter, smoother and more approachable than other styles.
