This Bordeaux style blend has traditional California components on the attack and Bordeaux elegance on the finish. The Cabernet Franc gives this wine amazing backbone, structure, and white pepper spice. The Malbec softens and rounds out the wine beautifully and the Cabernet Sauvignon adds complexity that weaves though the blend. The soft tannins are balanced out with nice texture to make this a complete wine. This wine will age for 10+ years.

One of the world’s most classic and popular styles of red wine, Bordeaux-inspired blends have spread from their homeland in France to nearly every corner of the New World. Typically based on either Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot and supported by Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, the best of these are densely hued, fragrant, full of fruit and boast a structure that begs for cellar time. Somm Secret—Blends from Bordeaux are generally earthier compared to those from the New World, which tend to be fruit-dominant.
Growing on high elevation bedrock slopes, the vineyards of Paso Robles Willow Creek AVA sit at between 960 and 1,900 feet in elevation.
