Distiller Notes

PO' di Poli Secca is a single-varietal grappa marked by intoxicating aromas of blackberries, freshly cut grass and hyacinth. On the palate it is well-rounded, lively and satisfying.

PO' di Poli Secca is made from the freshest pomace from Merlot grapes grown in the hills surrounding Breganze in the Veneto region, which has been grown in this region since the late 19th century. Merlot is prized for its plentiful fruit production and perfect maturation even in difficult years and infuses this grappa with rich and inviting aromas. The pomace is processed immediately upon arrival to the distillery.

First produced in the northern Italian town of Bassano del Grappa, Grappa is a type of Brandy made by distilling the pressed skins, stems, seeds and pulp of grapes (collectively called pomace), left over from the winemaking process. They range in alcoholicity from 35% to 60% and are most often clear and unaged. However, the interpretations aged in casks, which can be made from a variety of different woods, take on different flavor expressions and appear darker in color.
