Restrained, exhibiting black currant, cherry, cedar and sage aromas that pick up licorice, spice and mineral flavors. This is concentrated and focused, with a beam of acidity and an iron accent on the finish. Best from 2016 through 2024.

The 2011 Bolgheri Rosso Volpolo (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15 Petit Verdot) opens with dark concentration with berry nuances followed by pencil shaving and campfire ash. The finish is austere and muscular. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2020.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
