The 2024 Olema Cabernet Sauvignon opens with an expressive nose of blackberry, dark fruits, and blueberry compote. On the palate, a lush, rich texture is lifted by great acidity and structure, showcasing high-toned red fruits layered with notes of herbes de Provence and baker’s chocolate. The wine finishes with depth and poise, uniting ripe fruit, savory herbal complexity, and a polished, enduring texture.

A beautiful cab with blackberries, black currants and hints of graphite. Medium-bodied and savory, crunchy and racy, with light, velvety tannins. Terrific.

At Olema the goal is to bring the best possible fruit to the cellar. The more the vines are in balance, the better the fruit, and the better the fruit, the easier it is to make great wine. From when the grapes arrive at the winery to when the wine is bottled, the Olema team ensures that its wines are both true to their classic varietal characteristics and growing regions.
While Sonoma County is acclaimed—and rightfully so—for its Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Zinfandels, it also produces exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Of the region’s 18 American Viticultural Areas, only a handful produce top-notch Cabernet Sauvignon. These appellations include Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Sonoma Valley and Dry Creek Valley. Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignons made in these appellations can offer a complex array of aromas and flavors. Fruit notes such as blackberry, blackcurrant, cassis, black cherry and raspberry often are accompanied by hints of graphite, dusty earth, cigar box, toast and vanilla. The varietal has a rich history in Sonoma, and some of these Cabernet Sauvignons and Cabernet-based blends rival the best from Napa Valley.
