Navarro Correas Alegoria Gran Reserva Malbec 2010 Front Label
Navarro Correas Alegoria Gran Reserva Malbec 2010 Front Label

Winemaker Notes

Very sweet, impressively seductive and deep black fruit wrapped in a cloak of fine, smoky, mocha coffee-tinged oak with a great minty ripeness at its core. Some little notes of earth and exotic spices. On the palate, very nice freshness throughout this wine. Lovely fruit and freshness, with a herbal edge and very nice oak.

The 2010 Alegoria Gran Reserva Malbec is produced from fruit grown in the Uco Valley and has an expressive nose mixing red and black fruit, smoked meat, and plenty of spices, with personality. The palate is medium-bodied, with melted tannins, and freshness provided by good acidity and red fruit flavors coated with sweet spices.

Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
