Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Compared to the 2007 vintage, the 2006 Le Pergole Torte shows a slightly more accelerated evolution. This is an elegant and streamlined wine that is amply layered with dark aromas of pressed fruit, dry spice and pressed rose petal or wildflower. What stands out most, however, is the unique structure of the mouthfeel. This wine is very gentle and graceful on the palate. It does not show that sometimes deep tannic structure and zesty acidity that you encounter in Sangiovese from this cool and balanced vintage. This expression shows a milder temperament with a touch of sourness on the close and lingering notes of wet earth and pressed violets.

Blackberry, black cherry and floral aromas follow through to a fresh, fruity and minerally palate. Silky and citrusy. Very tight and racy. Classy. Sangiovese. Best after 2011.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
