  • 95 James Suckling
This is a gorgeous wine showing blackberries, walnuts, fresh sage and thyme, with some dark earth underneath it all. It’s medium- to full-bodied with crunchy fruit and lots of bark, dark fruit and light tar, with volcanic soil undertones at the end. Juicy. Old-vine selection of 85% sangiovese and 15% cabernet sauvignon. A sensuous wine. Drink after 2026, but it’s already beautiful.
  • 93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

A blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Montepeloso 2022 Nardo (with 3,800 bottles released) is a medium-bodied red, with a delicate display of red cherry, rose and grilled herb. The Sangiovese represents the heart and soul of the wine, and the Cabernet Sauvignon adds spicy accents. You will appreciate the slender and elegant finish on offer here.

  • 93 Vinous

The 2022 Nardo is laced with sweet red cherry, plum, leather, licorice, incense and dried flowers. Medium in body and super-refined, the 2022 has a ton to offer in a style that deftly balances depth and energy.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
