From limestone soils in Paphos on Cyprus, the Makarounas 2023 En Arhi is Cabernet Franc on ungrafted vines. The wine opens to a mostly neutral bouquet with light tones of dark berry and plum. It also shows light mineral tones and shaved pencil. En Arhi remains pleasantly mid-weight on the palate with good freshness and an accessible style. The wine is simple, but hats off to the balanced fruit ripeness.
