Distiller Notes
Maestro Dobel Humito Tequila is a bright, clear liquid with touches of silver. On the nose, floral notes and sensations of buttery caramel, cooked agave, olive and dried fruit. Sweet caramel flavors with maple and honey top notes, layered with the essence of fresh cut mesquite wood. Long on the palate with hints of roasted nuts and vanilla.
The world’s 1st smoked silver tequila. Replicating the tequila taste from the 17th century, mesquite wood is used during the production of this 100% blue agave silver tequila. Providing an extraordinary balance between smoky notes and agave. Maestro Dobel Humito uses Blue Webber Agave plants harvested between March and July right before the rainy season. Traditional masonry direct steam-heated ovens are used to cook the agave for a period of 36 hours. A 12-hour cooking period without any steam follows, maintaining the heat in the unopened oven. Afterwards, an air-cooling process takes place followed by traditional extraction process with four mills. Fermentation can last up to 72 hours followed by a double distillation in Copper Alembic Stills.
Tequila Blanco, or ‘white Tequila’, is also known as Tequila Plata, or ‘silver Tequila’. Its clear color is the result of being bottled immediately after distillation instead of being aged in oak barrels like Tequila Reposado or Anejo. Because of their youth and lack of barrel influence, Blanco Tequilas are thought to offer the purest expression of blue agave available, with notes of citrus and pepper. However, they can also be quite forceful and energetic on the palate without the moderating influence of time and wood.
