Youthful, fresh, and vibrant, this delightfully fruity Pinot Noir has a bouquet of red raspberry, ripe red currant, pomegranate, and Bing cherry, accompanied by hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and clove, with a delicate lift of flower blossoms. On the plate, the ripe red berries continue with notes of strawberry compote, rhubarb, red cherry, and spiced tea, supported by lush tannins and a silky, ethereal finish. Perfectly balanced with mouthwatering acidity, the fresh fruit complements the well-integrated oak, making this a crowd-pleasing light-bodied red, capable of pairing with a variety of cuisines, or easily enjoyed on its own.

Pinot Noir is the second-most planted grape in Santa Barbara County, just behind Chardonnay. It thrives in cooler areas of the region, namely in the of the Sta. Rita Hills, which is part of Santa Barbara’s larger Santa Ynez Valley sub-appellation. Thought for decades to be too cool for viticulture, Sta. Rita Hills began to gain notoriety in the 1970’s, thanks to the pioneering work of Richard Sandford and Michael Benedict, among others.
