Longrow 11 Year Red Fresh Port Casks Single Malt Scotch Whisky Front Bottle Shot

Distiller Notes

Longrow Red, always bottled at cask strength, is released annually in small quantities and every year a different type of red wine cask is used to mature the whisky.

On the nose, creamy, red apple, homemade rhubarb crumble with lots of confectionery notes. Red licorice and maraschino cherries. On the palate, delicate, soft and smooth. Perfect balance of Pinot Noir wine and Longrow. Red fruits, raspberry jam and cranberry. Followed by burnt embers and tobacco leaf with hints of smoke. On the finish, more of the Longrow characteristics: creamy, smoky, sultanas, and some nuttiness.

“A good gulp of hot Scotch Whisky at bedtime–it’s not very scientific, but it helps!”

Alexander Fleming, Scottish inventor of penicillin, prescribed it as a cure for the common cold. Today Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are prized by enthusiasts and aficionados the world over for their rarity, age and complexity. By definition these must be produced in Scotland from a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley, using a pot still. The appearance, aroma and flavor of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky can vary widely depending on whether it was produced in the Highlands, Lowlands Islands, Speyside, Islay or Campbelltown regions.
