Winemaker Notes

The wine is based on Sangiovese, a grape variety which is believed to have originated here in Tuscany. It is likely that the name deriver from the Latin "Sanguis Iovis" (Blood of Jove) , reflecting the deep ruby colour thet characterises Sangiovese wines. In years when the estate opts not to produce any Rosso Riserva the entire Sangiovese crop' even that from the best exposed vineyards goes into this orine, which perfectly expresses the variety's structure and fine qualities. Grape varieties: 70% Sangiovese 10% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% other red grapes vinification: following traditional Tuscan wrinemaking practices, fermentation is at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. Appearance: ruby red colour with slight orange hints;bouquet: very delicate, recalling the aromas of the natural flora of Mediterranean scrub, reminiscent of eucalyptus and lightly grassy, taste: dry. warm, balanced and velvely.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
