Kevin’s life changed after his first taste of a French Burgundy. He was 20 years old when a customer (and now close friend) at the restaurant where he worked gave him a glass of a 1945 Grand Cru Burgundy. From that point on, wine became his passion and livelihood.

Outside of Burgundy, this grape makes spectacular wine in the rugged coastline of South Africa and the cool climates of California, especially in Sonoma. It is also the most planted varietal in Champagne. Robin Kelley O'Connor will join Kevin during this class.

About Kevin Zraly

Kevin Zraly has built an impressive wine and restaurant career over the past five decades. He was the Cellar Master and Wine Director of Windows on the World Restaurant atop One World Trade Center from 1976 – 2001. He is the founder and instructor of the Windows on the World Wine School that has graduated over 20,000 students to date. Kevin is the author of eight books, including the largest selling wine book in the United States, Kevin Zraly's Windows on the World Complete Wine Course, (4 million copies). Kevin is the recipient of the 2011 James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Culinary Institute of America. He is also the recipient of the Wine Literary Award (2006), and the European Wine Council Lifetime Achievement Award (2002).
