Ghost and Rare Glenury Royal Blended Scotch Whisky is the third in a series of special releases crafted by Master Blender Jim Beveridge that blend irreplaceable "ghost" whiskies and other incredibly rare whiskies from the Johnnie Walker Blue Label reserves.
At the heart of this limited edition lies a hidden treasure of the whisky world from the "ghost" Glenury Royal distillery, which closed its doors over thirty years ago. In this special blend, notes of sumptuous orchard fruits, sweet apple and delicate apricot from Glenury Royal are heightened by the creamy toffee and butterscotch notes from the "ghost" whiskies of Cambus and Pittyvaich. Rare whiskies from Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie, Cameronbridge and Glenkinchie offer waves of vanilla, heather honey and dried fruits that weave through smooth dark chocolate and nutty layers to create a perfectly balanced exploration of this irreplaceable whisky. This indulgent blend is best enjoyed neat, alternating with sips of iced water on the side.

This presents a mellow bouquet of rich dried fruits, peat smoke, baked sugar on puff pastry, and almond butter cups. The chocolate-orange signature note ebbs and flows, mingling with spices and clove, nuts, dried apricot, caramel, vanilla, and baked apple, ending with a frisson of spice and mild smoke. Originally created as a lighter alternative to Single Malts to appeal to the Americans during Prohibition, Blended Scotch Whiskies are a mix of both grain and malt whiskies that have been sourced from multiple distilleries and aged a minimum of three years in oak barrels. Nine out of every ten bottles of Scotch sold is a Blended Scotch Whisky and they are generally far more affordable than Single Malt Scotch Whiskies.
