Winemaker Notes
Trueman is the pinnacle of Clarendon Cabernet. This upland vineyard raises fruit of rare elegance without losing any of its perfumed intensity. There is nothing boisterous about it. Lithe tannins underlie a strap of lively blackberry, and perfect amounts of sinew, flesh and bright acidity guarantee a highly rewarding decade or two. Dead serious Cabernet for the aficionado.

This has a clear leafy and fragrant blue fruit thread, really set in the cassis and blueberry zone, plus some fresh leafy and floral elements too. Oak is set back in this wine while chalky, savory minerals prevail as the most salient savory character. The palate has crisp, even and elegant tannins, nice and juicy, with flavors that are in the blueberry and plum spectrum, plus some redder tinges, lithe juicy and nicely pared back. Supple, fine, fleshy tannin spread. Screw cap. Drink now to seven years.

Plump blackberry, cherry and toasted rye bread flavors are supported by a muscular backbone of tannins, set in a velvety texture. Black tea and licorice details lend a refined element to the long finish. Drink now through 2030. 775 cases made.
A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbecand Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
Known for opulent red wines with intense power and concentration, McLaren Vale is home to perhaps the most “classic” style of Australian Shiraz. Vinified on its own or in Rhône Blends, these hot-climate wines are deeply colored and high in extract with signature hints of dark chocolate and licorice. Cabernet Sauvignon is also produced in a similar style.
Whites, often made from Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc tend to be opulent and full of tropical, stone and citrus fruit.
