Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
One of the best new Garnacha bottlings from Rioja, the 2022 Pancrudo keeps the poise, balance and floral character in a warm and dry year like 2022. It does show a little more ripeness and some dusty tannins, but that's expected after the hurried ripeness. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.42 denoting freshness. It's a triumph over the adverse conditions of the year. This is a neoclassical Garnacha, produced by fermenting the uncrushed grapes with indigenous yeasts and a short-ish macerating and aging the wine in a combination of foudre, concrete egg and used barrique.

James Suckling
Minerally and spicy, but not as peppery as the 2021. Hibiscus, chalk, vibrant berries and plums. Abundant, chalky tannins, with a medium to full body and a long, tense finish.

Vinous
The 2022 Pancrudo from Gómez Cruzado is a Garnacha from Cordovín in Rioja Alta that aged in reddish and floral, the nose features raspberry and rose petal aromas while it's taut and medium-bodied in the mouth, with fine, chalky grip and an agile, refreshing finish. The 2022 is a pure, expressive wine.

Decanter
Ripe dark cherries and plum aromas with elegant sweet spice. Juicy fruit flavours burst on the palate, complemented by gentle, nutty, vanilla flavours that persist towards the finish. Well-balanced with vibrant acidity and structure.
Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.
Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
