Winemaker Notes
Clean, bright. Cherry red color with ruby evolution. Medium deep. Aromas of cloves with sweet hints, and toasted notes from the barrel very well integrated. Highly polished tannin. Very well balanced acidity. Pleasant in the mouth. Long finale. The fruit and spicy notes remain along wit an aroma of notes.
Pair with any kind of meat. It matches with frilled or fried potatoes, mushrooms or ham. Some tasty or oily fish such as tuna and code. You can also pair it with medium aged cheese and berry desserts. Also pairs with rice and all kind of pasta.

Bright and fluid, this red exhibits cherry and floral flavors, with light accents of orange peel, cedar and tea. This is firm enough and lingers nicely with a spice- and cherry-tinged aftertaste. Tempranillo and Mazuelo. Drink now through 2030. 5,000 cases imported.

COMMENTARY: The 2015 Faustino V Gran Reserva is lively and long on the palate. TASTING NOTES: This wine shows aromas and flavors of spice and tart red fruits. Pair it with grilled pork kebabs. (Tasted: October 25, 2022, San Francisco, CA)
Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.
Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
