Distiller Notes
2021 San Francisco World Spirits Double Gold Medal Winner
Rested a few weeks in grand cru sauternes wine casks and cognac barrels, Excellia Blanco is clear with a faint of gold shade. The nose reveals cloves, tobacco and toast/brioche notes. On the palate, Excellia Blanco is complex with a mix of spices, vanilla, fruits and leather aromas. The finish is long on the mid-palate and presents dried spices and faint jasmine notes.
Excellia Blanco is the best example yet of a well-made blanco Highland tequila that dares to use, expertly, the sort of delicate flavors usually only seen in an anejo or extra-anejo, without losing the classic focus and strength which makes blanco the favorite tequila category among many connoisseurs.

Tequila Blanco, or ‘white Tequila’, is also known as Tequila Plata, or ‘silver Tequila’. Its clear color is the result of being bottled immediately after distillation instead of being aged in oak barrels like Tequila Reposado or Anejo. Because of their youth and lack of barrel influence, Blanco Tequilas are thought to offer the purest expression of blue agave available, with notes of citrus and pepper. However, they can also be quite forceful and energetic on the palate without the moderating influence of time and wood.
