Winemaker Notes
Dry Riesling with notably spicy fruit aromas balanced with a clear, crisp acidity. The vineyard’s red sandstone soil infuses the wine with a sprightly, almost peppery spice and characteristic fruitiness.

Welcome to a virgin forest of herbs! Tightly wound with a lot of drive and some healthy tannins, giving the finish some real structure. Serious minerality at the slightly austere finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification.

The 2019 Riesling trocken Kreuznacher Kahlenberg is clear, pure and flinty on the bright yet intense, concentrated, exciting and stony-scented nose. From pebbly loess and loam soils, this is a lush, salty, very fine and stimulating dry Riesling with very attractive fruit, lingering salinity and fine grip. Really stimulating. Tasted as a sample in Bremen, April 2020. Range: (92-93)
Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
