Wine Spectator
Round and very supple, with a vibrant structure supporting the nectarine, green tea and lemon verbena flavors. Great clarity and expression with a long, long mineral kaleidoscope aftertaste. It really stays firm and focused on the palate. Best from 2004 through 2020.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Fresh citrus fruits, spring onions, and spices are found in the nose of the 2001 Riesling Spatlese Oberhauser Brucke. A medium-bodied, complex, highly expressive wine, its satin-textured core reveals perfumed white fruits, green onions, minerals, and verbena in its rich yet crystalline character. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2018.
Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
